Firefighter

About the role

The Firefighter protects lives and property by responding to fires, vehicle accidents, natural disasters, and hazardous material incidents. This role involves rapid decision‑making, physical exertion, and teamwork in high‑stress environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform search, rescue, and firefighting operations for fires, accidents, floods, bomb incidents, and dangerous substance spills.
• Operate emergency response vehicles, equipment, and tools safely and efficiently.
• Use hand and power tools to ventilate structures, position ladders, and manage hose lines.
• Operate pumps, foam generators, boom and ground‑sweep nozzles, and related firefighting equipment.
• Conduct salvage and overhaul operations to minimize damage.
• Participate in station drills, emergency procedure training, and hazardous‑materials response.
• Respond to hazardous‑materials emergencies in accordance with regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum one (1) year of firefighting experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as IFSAC, DoD, or National Pro‑Board Firefighter II, Hazardous Materials Operations, and optionally ARFF.
• Current state driver’s license and valid certifications for fire apparatus operation.
• Ability to work under hazardous conditions and meet interior structural firefighting requirements (OSHA 1910.156).
• Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks in remote or uncomfortable locations.
