About the role
The EU Delegation to Uganda offers a funded traineeship of up to six months in the Political Press and Information (PPI) Section. This position is designed for a recent graduate who wants to gain hands‑on experience in diplomatic work, research, and communication within the EU’s development cooperation framework.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct in‑depth research on EU‑Uganda cooperation and political developments.
- Draft analytical reports, briefings and contribute to communication and visibility activities.
- Assist in data coordination, consolidating inputs from EU Member States.
- Support event preparation, attend meetings and produce comprehensive reports.
- Contribute to youth‑engagement initiatives and manage related social media content.
- Maintain and organise archival records related to EU‑Uganda cooperation.
Required profile
- Currently residing in Uganda.
- Holder of at least a Bachelor’s degree in political science, social science, economics, communications, history or a related field.
- Less than one year of professional experience after graduation.
- Very good command of spoken and written English.
- Highly motivated, proactive and able to work in a multicultural team.
- Strong research, writing and analytical abilities.
- Interest in international relations, development cooperation and the socio‑economic context of Uganda.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in managing social media platforms.
