Hostess

About the role

The Hostess will be the first point of contact for guests in the dining area, ensuring a welcoming and organized experience. This role supports smooth restaurant operations by managing seating, assisting guests, and maintaining cleanliness.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, determine party size, and seat them at clean, available tables.
• Pull out chairs, place menus, and ensure each guest has appropriate place settings.
• Guide guests through the dining room and provide assistance as needed.
• Arrange tables and chairs for groups with special needs and monitor seating availability.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the shift, following clean‑as‑you‑go procedures.
• Check menus for current, clean, and wrinkle‑free copies.
• Observe safety, service standards, and report any accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Answer telephone calls with proper etiquette and use clear, professional language.
• Support team goals, build positive relationships, and respond to employee concerns.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
• Capability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 10 lb without assistance.
