Landscaper – Grounds Maintenance Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Landscaper to maintain the appearance and functionality of our property grounds in Kampala. The role involves caring for lawns, flower beds, trees, and irrigation systems while ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the visual appeal of grounds, including fountains, planters, and other features.
• Plant, replace, and transplant flowers, bulbs, grass, trees, and shrubs.
• Perform lawn care tasks such as mowing, edging, raking leaves, and weed removal.
• Operate and maintain irrigation systems, dump trucks, tractors, and other utility vehicles.
• Clean, refuel, and perform routine maintenance on all equipment after use.
• Collect and dispose of exterior trash, and assist with snow/ice management when applicable.
• Follow company safety policies, report hazards, and maintain a professional appearance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of related landscaping or grounds‑maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, standing for long periods, and working on uneven surfaces.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Operation of dump trucks, tractors, and other utility vehicles.
• Maintenance of irrigation systems.
• Lawn mowing, edging, and general grounds‑care equipment use.
• Basic equipment cleaning and refueling procedures.
