MEAL Officer – OCHA WASH Project (National)

About the role

The MEAL Officer will lead Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning activities for the OCHA‑funded WASH project in refugee settlements across Kiryandongo, Palorinya and Rhino Camp. Reporting to the MEAL Coordinator, the officer will ensure data quality, timely documentation and accountability to donors and beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the project MEAL framework, indicator tracking tables, data collection tools and SOPs.
• Coordinate joint monitoring activities with partners, analyse data, and produce regular narrative and visual reports.
• Conduct data quality audits, support capacity‑building for staff and partners on MEAL processes.
• Oversee the Feedback and Complaints Mechanism, ensuring compliance with the Core Humanitarian Standard.
• Lead the design and coordination of evaluations, assessments and learning workshops.

Required profile

• Experience in implementing MEAL systems for humanitarian WASH projects.
• Ability to identify information gaps, recommend data collection improvements and ensure data quality.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian standards such as CHS and safeguarding principles.
