Monitoring and Evaluation Verification Specialist (Pool)

About the role

ThinkWell is preparing to implement a five‑year Government‑to‑Government Readiness and Independent Verification Activity in Uganda. The Monitoring and Evaluation Verification Specialist will join multidisciplinary verification teams to conduct hands‑on field verification of health service delivery and health system results across Uganda’s health system.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in verification orientation, training and become familiar with assigned milestones, indicators and verification protocols.
• Review existing reports and data, contribute to sampling, prioritisation and planning of field verification activities.
• Conduct on‑site verification at community, facility, district, referral hospital and national levels, reviewing routine HMIS records, electronic systems, patient and service records, laboratory and pharmacy logs, and program documentation.
• Sample, recount, reconcile and trace reported results to original source documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness and traceability.
• Document findings, prepare verification reports and provide evidence‑based recommendations.

Required profile

• Strong practical experience in monitoring and evaluation, data quality assessment and source data verification within health programmes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams in field settings.
• Familiarity with health information systems, routine HMIS data and health service documentation.
• Excellent analytical, documentation and reporting skills.
