Dental Assistant

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Dental Assistant to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will provide direct chair‑side assistance, manage dental records, and ensure the clinic runs safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain accurate medical/dental records for all personnel, including pre‑employment exams, histories, x‑rays and treatment documentation.
• Assist dentists during patient visits by preparing and sterilizing instruments, managing treatment rooms and capturing dental x‑ray images.
• Provide patients with oral hygiene guidance, answer procedural questions and deliver post‑treatment instructions.
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and request replenishments as needed.
• Support government inspections by providing access to dental and medical records.

Required profile

• Certification or diploma in Dental Assisting or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience as a Dental Assistant, including chair‑side assistance and dental radiography.
• Strong attention to detail in record‑keeping and compliance with U.S. government regulations.
