Associate, Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal and Newborn Health

About the role

The Associate will support CHAI’s efforts to strengthen emergency referral systems and improve maternal and newborn health outcomes in Uganda. Working closely with program teams, the Associate will help design, implement, and monitor interventions that address delays in recognizing danger signs, seeking care, and receiving timely treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing functional communication and transport linkages for emergency referrals.
• Support the creation and refinement of triage and referral protocols.
• Collect and analyse data on maternal and neonatal mortality trends.
• Collaborate with government partners, NGOs, and health facilities to ensure alignment with national health strategies.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports, policy briefs, and stakeholder presentations.

Required profile

• Degree in public health, global health, epidemiology, or a related field.
• Experience working on maternal, newborn, or reproductive health programs, preferably in low‑ and middle‑income settings.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
