Deputy Team Leader – Technical Director (Humanitarian Programme)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Deputy Team Leader / Technical Director to provide strategic technical leadership and operational oversight for the Refugee Support, Empowerment and Transformation (ReSET) programme in Uganda. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will ensure technical quality and coherence across all sectors and pillars while strengthening partner capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership and operational oversight for the ReSET programme.
• Ensure technical quality and coherence of programme delivery across all sectors and pillars.
• Build partner capacity within IRC’s localisation framework.
• Lead value‑for‑money integration and coordinate with key stakeholders.
• Deputise for the Team Leader as required.
• Serve as senior relationship manager with FCDO, consortium partners, and government counterparts.

Required profile

• Solutions‑driven, passionate change‑maker with experience in humanitarian programme management.
• Proven ability to strengthen partner capacity and work within localisation frameworks.
• Experience managing multi‑sector programmes and coordinating with donors and government.
