Fresh Produce Business Development Officer

About the role

As a Fresh Produce Business Development Officer you will be pivotal in expanding market reach and securing a reliable off‑take of fresh produce from our urban aquaponics and hydroponics farms. You will identify new markets, negotiate contracts, and nurture long‑term relationships to drive growth and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a sales strategy targeting priority markets for fresh‑produce distribution.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to capture opportunities.
• Create, negotiate and maintain off‑take contracts with key buyers and distributors.
• Manage existing accounts, ensuring timely deliveries, quality supply and addressing client concerns.
• Coordinate with production teams to guarantee a steady supply that meets sales commitments.
• Provide accurate sales forecasts and regular performance reports to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, AgriBusiness, Commerce or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in account management, sales or business development, preferably with agricultural or food products.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Self‑motivated and able to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Knowledge of aquaponics/hydroponics systems and organic farming is a plus.
• Passion for sustainability, urban agriculture and healthy food.
