Lab Technician / Biomedical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Lab Technician / Biomedical Engineer to join Medequip (U) Limited in Kampala. The role involves installing, commissioning and maintaining laboratory and biomedical equipment at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, test and validate laboratory equipment at client locations.
• Provide user training and technical support during equipment hand‑over.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to keep equipment operating efficiently.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs in line with manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct equipment calibration, performance verification and functional testing.
• Support sales and tender processes with equipment demonstrations and technical presentations.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, manufacturer guidelines and health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Collaborate with sales and technical teams to enhance customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in installation, testing, maintenance and repair of biomedical or laboratory equipment.
