Lead MRV & Carbon Market Consultant for ERW Project

About the role

We are seeking a specialist consulting firm to act as Lead Technical, MRV, Regulatory Approval and Carbon Market Readiness Consultant for an Enhanced Rock Weathering carbon sequestration project in Uganda. The consultancy will guide the development, validation and commercialisation of soil remineraliser products while ensuring verifiable CO₂ removal.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the ERW carbon accounting framework aligned with the Puro.earth ERW Methodology (2025) and IPCC guidelines.
• Design, implement and operate a full Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) system.
• Prepare all regulatory documentation required under Uganda’s National Climate Change Regulations, including PIN, LNO application, Project Design Document and monitoring reports.
• Create a carbon market readiness and commercialisation strategy for CO₂ removal credits and provide guidance on registry onboarding and buyer engagement.
• Support project governance, risk management and stakeholder engagement throughout the three‑phase contract.

Required profile

• Firms or institutions with proven experience in ERW, mineral carbonation or comparable durable CDR technologies.
• Demonstrated expertise in carbon accounting methodology development for standards such as Puro.earth, Verra VCS or Gold Standard.
• Experience preparing verification‑ready documentation and PDDs for accredited carbon standards.
• Knowledge of Uganda or East African regulatory environments is advantageous.
• Key personnel to include a Lead Consultant (15+ years’ experience) and specialists in MRV, regulatory compliance, carbon markets and Ugandan law.
