Ministry Pilot – Aviation Services (Entebbe, Uganda)

About the role

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Ministry Pilot to join its Mission Aviation Services team in Entebbe, Uganda. The pilot will provide safe, reliable fixed‑wing air transportation to support humanitarian and Gospel‑focused programs across East and Central Africa.

Key responsibilities

• File flight plans, obtain and interpret weather data, and calculate aircraft weight and balance for each flight.
• Load and unload passenger luggage and cargo, ensuring proper securing.
• Maintain aircraft charts, update software, and keep the aircraft clean and sanitized after each flight.
• Perform pre‑flight and post‑flight safety checks and coordinate with FAA as required.
• Assist with hangar maintenance, repairs, and property upkeep.
• Travel up to 35% of the time, including extended deployments during humanitarian crises.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 1,200 flight hours.
• First Class Medical certification.
• Fluency in English.
• Commitment to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and ability to serve as a witness.

Required skills

• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate – Airplane Single/Multi Engine Land with Instrument Rating.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification (preferred).
• First Class Medical certificate.
• Demonstrated proficiency in flight planning, weather analysis, and aircraft weight‑balance calculations.
