Supply Chain Assistant (Humanitarian Logistics)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Supply Chain Assistant to support humanitarian operations in refugee settlements across Uganda. Reporting to the Field Manager, you will help ensure timely acquisition, storage, and distribution of goods and services while complying with IRC policies and donor regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and implement IRC inventory management policies and procedures.
• Receive, store, release, and document goods, ensuring accurate records in the store activity book.
• Monitor inventory levels, advise on potential shortages, and support FIFO loading/unloading practices.
• Manage casual laborers in the stores and ensure safety and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Coordinate with program, finance, and field teams to track procurement plans and vendor communications.
• Support asset management, warehousing, and logistics processes to enable uninterrupted program delivery.

Required profile

• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, field‑based environment.
• Experience working with logistics, procurement, or inventory management in humanitarian or development settings is preferred.
• Effective communication and teamwork with diverse stakeholders.
