About the role
The Second Deputy Vice Chancellor will support the Vice Chancellor in steering Makerere University’s strategic direction. This senior executive position focuses on overseeing finance, administration, and the university’s planning and development initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Vice Chancellor in the performance of his/her functions.
- Oversee the university’s financial management and administrative operations.
- Lead the planning and development agenda for the institution.
- Execute additional duties delegated by the Vice Chancellor or assigned by the University Council.
Required profile
- Appropriate academic qualifications and a proven record in higher‑education leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in financial oversight, administrative management, and strategic planning.
- Strong leadership, managerial, and personal integrity.
- Ability to provide confidential references covering academic credentials, experience, and leadership qualities.
