About the role
The Arlington Independent School District seeks a qualified Social Studies teacher to deliver US History courses at the high‑school level, including dual‑credit classes in partnership with Tarrant County College. The role focuses on fostering academic growth and preparing students for post‑secondary success.
Key responsibilities
- Implement AISD high‑school curriculum and Tarrant County College dual‑credit curriculum.
- Develop lesson plans, accommodations, and assessments aligned with Texas Education Agency standards.
- Collaborate with special‑education teachers to modify curricula and support IEP students.
- Manage classroom environment, student behavior, and safety in accordance with district policies.
- Guide students in preparation for TSI, SAT, ACT and college readiness.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in History (or equivalent graduate hours) from an accredited university.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements.
- Prior experience teaching high‑school or dual‑credit courses (preferred).
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal abilities.
