About the role
The Business Development Manager – Broking will lead the expansion of our client’s insurance broking network in Uganda. You will be responsible for identifying, acquiring and onboarding new brokers, driving revenue growth and ensuring strong, long‑term broker relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to increase market footprint through broker acquisition.
- Build a pipeline of prospects, negotiate terms, pricing and service agreements.
- Achieve revenue, premium and profitability targets set by the organization.
- Design need‑based insurance products for the broker market.
- Conduct market activations, visits and intelligence gathering with brokers.
- Provide training, support and ongoing communication to brokers on products, underwriting and claims.
- Monitor broker performance, ensure compliance with regulations and contractual agreements.
- Prepare regular reports on broker performance, premium income and market trends.
Required profile
- Proven experience in business development or sales within insurance broking.
- Strong track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and profitability targets.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to analyse market trends and translate insights into actionable plans.
