Business Mentor & Consultant – FAST Program (Remote)

About the role

The FAST program, supported by the Mastercard Foundation, seeks experienced entrepreneurs to mentor early‑stage African founders. As a Business Mentor & Consultant you will work remotely for six months, providing strategic guidance to help young innovators move from idea to profitable venture.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct one‑on‑one virtual discovery meetings to assess each venture’s current stage and bottlenecks.
• Prepare an Assessment Report that highlights priority areas for impact.
• Provide tailored advice on business regulations, licensing, and tax compliance.
• Support business modeling, strategic planning, and value‑proposition refinement.
• Guide founders on budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting, and early‑stage capital management.
• Assist with sales, marketing, digital positioning, and customer‑acquisition strategies.
• Offer insights on MVP development, market research, supply‑chain, and inventory management.
• Prepare entrepreneurs for investment readiness and effective use of FAST grant funding.

Required profile

• Established entrepreneur with a proven track record of launching or scaling a business.
• Passionate about youth empowerment, inclusive growth, and African entrepreneurship.
• Ability to commit at least 10 hours per week for the six‑month term.
• Strong communication skills for virtual mentorship.
