Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Strategic Leadership

About the role

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will provide strategic and operational leadership for Raising The Village’s global operations, ensuring the organization has the systems, people and infrastructure needed to scale its mission across Sub‑Saharan Africa. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will work from the Kamwokya hub and partner with senior leaders to align field operations, digital platforms and data systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement operational systems and processes that support rapid scaling while maintaining quality and accountability.
• Oversee field operations, digital platforms and data‑driven tools to ensure coordinated program delivery.
• Lead cross‑functional teams, fostering alignment between program, technology and partnership initiatives.
• Drive operational excellence, disciplined execution and continuous improvement across all service delivery models.
• Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to set strategic priorities and resource allocation.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of senior‑level operational leadership experience, preferably in international development or non‑profit sectors.
• Proven track record of building and scaling operational infrastructure in complex, multi‑country environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience integrating data systems and technology into program delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with governments, partners and community groups.
