Credit Officer – Loan Evaluation & Portfolio Management

About the role

The Credit Officer will evaluate and recommend loan applications for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Senior Operations Officer, the role involves travel for client meetings and events across Kampala and surrounding districts.

Key responsibilities

• Assess applicants' financial eligibility and recommend loan approvals.
• Manage and monitor loan portfolios to maintain performance.
• Ensure adherence to loan regulations, procedures, and company policies.
• Conduct client meetings and represent the company at events.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Kampala and surrounding districts for market insights.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in loans or financial services.
• Knowledge of loan regulations and procedures.
• Understanding of direct and indirect lending products and practices.
• Experience in micro‑finance or logbook loans is an advantage.
