Enrolled Nurse & Enrolled Midwife – Contract Positions

About the role

Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital is hiring qualified Enrolled Nurses and an Enrolled Midwife for its Private Wing on a contract basis. The positions involve delivering patient‑centred care, supporting clinical teams, and maintaining a clean and safe environment within the hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Provide continuous nursing coverage on wards, receive reports and hand over to incoming staff.
• Ensure patient comfort, maintain aseptic techniques, and uphold confidentiality.
• Administer prescribed treatments, perform nursing procedures, and record observations accurately.
• Participate in ward rounds, health education, and primary health‑care activities.
• For the midwife role: conduct antenatal care, assist during labour and puerperium, and manage admissions, discharges and deaths.

Required profile

• Certificate in Enrolled Nursing (for nurses) or Certificate in Enrolled Midwifery (for midwife) from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration and practicing licence with the Nurses and Midwives Council.
• Patient‑focused approach and pleasant personality.
