Field Recovery Officer – Kampala

About the role

The Field Recovery Officer will be responsible for visiting clients and debtors in Kampala to negotiate repayment plans and collect overdue amounts. This role supports the finance team by ensuring timely recovery of outstanding debts while maintaining professional relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑person visits to debtors to negotiate repayment terms and collect overdue payments.
• Monitor accounts for delinquency, update payment records, and generate collection progress reports for management.
• Engage with debtors to build rapport, resolve disputes, and educate them on their financial obligations.
• Ensure all collection activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, respecting debtor rights.
• Collect and verify documentation such as payment receipts and identification, maintaining accurate records of communications and debt status.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in debt recovery, collections, or related financial services.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to handle sensitive conversations.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Understanding of legal and compliance standards governing debt collection in Uganda.
