Finance & Administration Director

About the role

ThinkWell Uganda is seeking a Finance & Administration Director to lead the establishment, coordination, and management of operational functions for a new USG State Department‑funded program. The role reports directly to the Chief of Party and works closely with the CFO and Operations team.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a team of approximately five finance and admin staff members.
• Oversee office administration including supplies, IT, HR, procurement, communications, utilities, and contracts.
• Lead procurement activities: vendor management, IT equipment, insurance, and compliance with USG requirements.
• Support office setup, government and tax registration, legal compliance, and logistics.
• Manage day‑to‑day office operations such as transport, accommodation bookings, inventory, and knowledge management.
• Develop and maintain an annual procurement plan aligned with work plans and budgets.
• Ensure transparent, competitive, and timely procurement processes, including solicitation, bid evaluation, contracting, and purchase orders.

Required profile

• Strong background in finance, administration, HR, and procurement.
• Broad understanding of Ugandan law, USG compliance, and financial operating requirements.
• Experience managing people and leading operational functions in a development context.
• Ugandan nationals are encouraged to apply.
