About the role
One Acre Fund is seeking a Finance Associate to support its Uganda program. The role focuses on financial analysis, budgeting, reporting, and grant finance management to drive informed decision‑making and ensure fiscal health.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and continuously update 5‑year rolling forecasts and financial models, aligning assumptions with the Country Director and Global Finance.
- Provide financial advice for strategic initiatives, including sensitivity analyses and best‑practice recommendations.
- Lead monthly financial reporting and Budget vs. Actual processes in partnership with department heads.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of Uganda‑focused grants, ensuring donor compliance, accurate reporting, and efficient tracking systems.
- Prepare donor budget reports, forecasts, and monitor grant spending against budgets.
- Manage fund flow models to maintain operational liquidity for restricted activities.
- Prepare and file Uganda‑specific tax returns and statutory obligations.
- Serve as primary contact for internal and external audits, ensuring thorough documentation.
Required profile
- Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
- Experience managing grants and donor compliance in a non‑profit or development context.
- Strong understanding of Ugandan tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
- Ability to collaborate with finance, field, and fundraising teams to synchronize fund transfers and grant progress.
