Credit and Recovery Supervisor

About the role

The Credit and Recovery Supervisor leads the Credit and Recovery team at Crane Capital, driving sustainable loan portfolio growth while safeguarding portfolio quality. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the role combines business development, credit appraisal, monitoring and recovery responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve portfolio growth targets through customer mobilization, prospecting and acquisition of new borrowers in approved markets.
• Manage an assigned loan portfolio and support Credit Officers to meet disbursement and client acquisition goals.
• Ensure diversification of the loan portfolio to limit concentration risk across products, sectors and customer segments.
• Maintain Portfolio at Risk (PAR >30 days) below 10% and monitor arrears daily, initiating timely follow‑up on missed instalments.
• Review and improve credit and recovery procedures, scoring models and risk assessment tools.
• Coordinate recovery actions for non‑performing loans, including field visits, guarantor follow‑up, restructuring recommendations and lawful collection measures.
• Supervise, coach and provide field support to Credit Officers and Recovery Officers, setting weekly and monthly work plans.
• Prepare regular reports on portfolio performance, delinquency classification and provisioning in line with company policy and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit, loan monitoring or recovery within a banking or micro‑finance environment.
• Strong understanding of portfolio risk management and loan product diversification.
• Ability to lead and develop a team, setting clear objectives and providing coaching.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in reporting and compliance.
