Head of SACCOs

About the role

The Head of SACCOs will lead the SACCOs segment for DFCU Bank, shaping strategy, driving growth and ensuring high‑quality portfolio performance. Reporting to senior leadership, this role combines strategic planning with hands‑on team management to meet new‑to‑bank targets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the SACCOs strategy and work plan aligned with the bank’s overall objectives and budget.
• Set performance standards for the SACCOs team, monitor results and ensure targets are met.
• Provide strategic and tactical direction to achieve new‑business goals within the SACCOs segment.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to benchmark best practices and enhance DFCU’s positioning.
• Lead the team to deliver results, foster a customer‑centric culture and uphold service pledges.
• Oversee credit quality by reviewing reports and focusing on watch‑list collections.
• Enforce bank policies and procedures across the SACCOs segment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; MBA or professional banking qualification is a plus.
• At least 8 years of retail banking experience with a sales focus, including 3+ years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of banking products, credit processes and business development.
• Proven leadership, team‑building and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
