Galley Accountant – Navy Food Service Accounting

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Galley Accountant to support a critical U.S. Navy food‑service program located on Diego Garcia. The role combines traditional accounting duties with specialized Navy food‑service record management, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate Navy food‑service accounting records in both manual and automated formats.
• Use the latest version of the Food Service Management (FSM) system to prepare, update, and reconcile records.
• Prepare and submit financial reports, returns, and summaries in line with Navy timelines and directives.
• Support compliance audits by ensuring all documentation is current and accurate.
• Collaborate with food‑service personnel, leadership, and auditors to promote consistent record‑keeping practices.

Required profile

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in food‑service records management.
• Completion of the latest Navy Records and Returns School training.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required facility credentials and visas.
• Valid passport for at least one year at hiring.
• Pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout deployment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Food Service Management (FSM) system.
• Strong knowledge of Navy food‑service directives and accountability systems.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
• High attention to detail for accurate record maintenance.
