Head of Finance and Planning

About the role

The Head of Finance and Planning will lead the university’s finance function and oversee strategic planning. Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor, the role ensures sound financial management, budgeting, and compliance across all university activities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Finance Department.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, and budget control for the university.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Compile annual financial statements for audit.
• Maintain accurate records of all university income streams, including rents, donations, grants, fees, and investments.
• Record and safeguard all movable and immovable university assets.
• Facilitate effective communication on financial matters across university units.
• Serve ex‑officio as a member of the University Council and its committees.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA or CPA.
• Minimum five years of experience as Head of Accounts or Finance in a reputable organization.
• Membership in a relevant professional body.
