Consultant – Audit & Assurance

About the role

Deloitte Uganda is seeking a dynamic Consultant to join its Assurance team in Kampala. You will work on audit and assurance engagements, support senior managers, and help deliver high‑quality services to clients across East Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure fieldwork is performed efficiently and in line with client and firm standards, supporting Engagement Managers on delegated engagements.
• Research innovation and industry trends to enhance service offerings and manage own work against project plans for superior client experience.
• Apply Deloitte’s risk frameworks and tools (Risk Intelligence Program Methodology, Risk Intelligence Map, Risk Intelligence Diagnostic) to map and organize client data.
• Analyze client artifacts, design current‑state business processes, and assess internal controls using appropriate frameworks.
• Coach and mentor junior team members, assist in client presentations, and contribute to business development initiatives.

Required profile

• At least a second‑class honours bachelor’s degree in a related field; postgraduate qualifications or certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CISA) are an advantage.
• Four or more years of experience in external/internal audit, internal controls review, or risk management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel within Uganda and the East Africa region.
• Ugandan citizenship or eligibility to work in Uganda.
