Partnerships and Grants Manager

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council in Uganda is seeking a senior professional to lead the Partnerships and Grants portfolio of a Sudan crisis localisation fund. You will provide strategic direction, ensure compliance across the grant lifecycle, and support locally‑led partners while maintaining accountability to donors.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage grant application processes, including guidelines, templates and evaluation criteria.
• Lead due‑diligence and vetting of partner organisations, ensuring alignment with donor and fund standards.
• Prepare, negotiate and administer grant agreements and amendments in coordination with HQ.
• Oversee the development and rollout of the Fund’s grant management system.
• Coordinate with the Operations Manager to streamline fund disbursements, financial tracking and risk management.
• Maintain the Fund risk register and dashboard, flagging high‑risk areas.
• Monitor grant implementation, ensuring timely and quality financial and narrative reporting.
• Provide capacity‑building support to partners on procurement, risk management and organisational development.

Required profile

• Minimum six years of experience in grants management, partnership coordination or related fields.
• Proven senior‑level leadership experience, including managing specialist staff.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, risk management and financial monitoring.
• Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts, preferably in East Africa.
