People & Culture Locum Assistant (3-month contract)

About the role

The People & Culture Locum Assistant will support TPO Uganda’s HR function in Kampala for a three‑month assignment (October‑December 2026). The role provides administrative and operational assistance across the employee lifecycle, ensuring smooth recruitment, onboarding, record‑keeping and staff‑engagement activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in recruitment and selection, including drafting job ads, shortlisting candidates, coordinating interviews and supporting onboarding.
• Prepare and process employment contracts, extensions, renewals and related documentation.
• Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files and HR trackers.
• Support onboarding, induction and separation procedures.
• Help with performance management processes such as probation reviews and appraisals.
• Contribute to staff welfare, learning, recognition and engagement initiatives.
• Assist in implementing HR policies, guidelines and tools.
• Provide routine administrative support to staff and supervisors.
• Prepare HR reports, correspondence and other documentation.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with organisational policies and labour regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant HR experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
