About the role
The Programme Assistant will support the implementation of activities under the project “Improving livelihoods and securing the rights of women and girls with disabilities” in Amolatar and Kaberamaido districts, Uganda. The role involves coordinating livelihood, SRH, GBV prevention and advocacy activities at district level.
Key responsibilities
- Support planning and development of livelihood, SRH and gender programmes.
- Coordinate all project activities at district level, including mapping, profiling and networking with financial services.
- Lead implementation of the iSAVE inclusive economic empowerment programme and supervise district‑based staff.
- Conduct community sensitisation meetings, technical capacity assessments and develop district union work plans.
- Manage SRHR activities, update actor maps, organise training and monitor budget and project planning.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Science, Community Based Rehabilitation or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience implementing livelihood interventions, gender mainstreaming, GBV prevention and SRHR.
- Fluency in English and local languages (Langi for Amolatar, Kumam for Kaberamaido).
- Ability to work in multicultural settings and provide effective feedback.
