Project Manager – Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (UCSATP) in refugee settlements of northern Uganda. Reporting to the Response Director, the role ensures delivery of climate‑smart agriculture interventions that improve food security and livelihood resilience for both refugee and host communities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate all project activities in accordance with work plans, budgets and donor requirements.
• Develop detailed work plans, budgets, procurement schedules and reporting frameworks.
• Provide technical guidance on climate‑smart agriculture, sustainable farming systems, soil and water conservation and agricultural extension.
• Coordinate start‑up, implementation, review and close‑out phases, ensuring timely achievement of targets and indicators.
• Engage and maintain strong relationships with local government, development partners, settlement management, community leaders and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, government regulations and donor reporting standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing development projects, preferably in agriculture or climate‑smart initiatives.
• Knowledge of agricultural extension methods and sustainable farming practices.
• Ability to work effectively with refugee and host populations and multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Strong reporting and budgeting skills aligned with donor compliance.
