Registered Nurse / Midwife – In‑home Care (Kampala)

About the role

NightCare Nannies is looking for qualified Registered Nurses and Midwives to deliver professional in‑home care for mothers, newborns, children and elderly clients in Kampala. This full‑time, on‑site position includes day and night shifts tailored to each family’s needs.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and assess health status of clients.
• Support post‑natal recovery, assist with breastfeeding and newborn care routines.
• Administer prescribed medications and provide wound care.
• Document all care activities accurately and maintain care plans.
• Educate families on health, hygiene and child/elder care practices.
• Collaborate with supervisors and healthcare providers when required.
• Uphold safety, infection‑control standards and professional boundaries.
• Provide emotional support to clients and family members during day and night shifts.

Required profile

• Current registration and licence as a Registered Nurse or Midwife with the Ugandan regulatory body.
• Formal training and experience in maternal health, post‑natal and newborn care, including breastfeeding support.
• Strong caregiving and communication abilities, with empathy and clear documentation skills.
• Ability to follow structured care plans, work under supervision and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• High standards of professionalism, reliability, confidentiality and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and live‑in assignments.
• Prior experience in home‑based care, community health, paediatric or geriatric nursing is an advantage.
