Risk Advisor / Insurance Agent

About the role

The Risk Advisor/Agent will generate new business, build and maintain client relationships, and promote NIC Life Assurance products to prospective customers while ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect daily to generate new business and acquire customers.
• Achieve personal and team production targets set by the Unit Manager.
• Attend field activations, meetings and team hurdles as required.
• Submit daily activity reports and maintain accurate records.
• Obtain and maintain a valid Insurance Agent licence and pass the Certificate of Proficiency (COP) exam within the stipulated time.
• Ensure persistence of business brought in and comply with the company’s code of ethics and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Insurance or related field; a Bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
• Must obtain a Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance and a valid Insurance Agent licence from the Uganda Insurance Regulatory Authority.
• Previous experience in sales, marketing, customer service or financial services is preferred; fresh graduates with strong interpersonal skills are welcome.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship‑building abilities, self‑driven attitude and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Computer literacy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
