School Caretaker – 30 hrs/week, term time plus four weeks

About the role
The School Caretaker will join Newport Girls' High School to support the Science Faculty and ensure the school environment is safe, clean and well‑maintained throughout the term.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and tidy classrooms, laboratories and common areas, ensuring all health and safety standards are met.
- Carry out a shift pattern between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, including occasional evenings and weekend overtime.
- Assist with setting up and clearing down Science Faculty facilities for lessons and events.
- Report any building defects or safety concerns to senior staff promptly.
Required profile
- Organised, highly professional and proactive individual.
- Commitment to staff well‑being and ability to work as part of a close‑knit team.
- Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS, Barred List and other safeguarding checks.
