Senior Accreditation Officer – Agriculture Education & Training

About the role

The Senior Accreditation Officer will lead the coordination and implementation of accreditation and quality‑assurance activities for agriculture, wildlife and veterinary TVET programmes in Uganda. The role ensures that training providers meet national standards and remain relevant to labour‑market needs.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical evaluations and site assessments of TVET providers applying for accreditation or renewal.
• Prepare detailed evaluation reports and submit recommendations to the Manager Accreditation.
• Monitor accredited institutions through routine inspections, identify deficiencies and recommend remedial actions.
• Report non‑compliant providers for regulatory action and maintain the register of licensed and accredited TVET providers.
• Liaise with professional bodies and sector associations to align programmes with market needs.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, wildlife, veterinary science or closely related fields; a Diploma in pedagogy/andragogy is mandatory for candidates without prior pedagogical qualifications.
• Minimum five years’ experience delivering agriculture‑related training in a TVET institution and at least three years of supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of the TVET Act (2025) and TVET Policy Implementation Standards (2019), as well as national and international standards for agriculture and veterinary training.
