Senior Human Resources Business Partner

About the role

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner will work closely with business leaders to translate strategic priorities into effective people initiatives. The role focuses on employee engagement, performance management, talent development and fostering a high‑performing culture within an agro‑processing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted HR partner to assigned business units, delivering timely HR advice.
• Translate business strategy into people plans and HR interventions.
• Design and monitor employee engagement programmes that boost morale and retention.
• Partner with managers on performance management, goal setting, coaching and succession planning.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning and retention initiatives.
• Provide guidance on employee relations and ensure fair, consistent issue resolution.
• Implement HR policies, procedures, systems and best practices across the business.
• Lead or support change‑management projects to help employees adapt to organisational changes.
• Analyse workforce data and HR metrics to inform business decisions.
• Ensure compliance with Ugandan labour laws and internal policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree or professional qualification is a plus.
• 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an HR Business Partner or Generalist role.
• Experience in agro‑processing, manufacturing, FMCG or similarly operational environments is advantageous.
• Proven track record designing and implementing employee engagement initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of performance management, talent management, employee relations and Ugandan labour law.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR information systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
