Wholesale Connectivity Manager

About the role

The Wholesale Connectivity Manager will lead MTN Uganda’s wholesale and carrier services strategy, driving revenue growth through innovative roaming and interconnect agreements. This senior position reports to the Senior Manager – Consumer Segments and is responsible for shaping partnerships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering high‑quality services to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a long‑term strategy for carrier relations, aligning with overall business objectives.
• Establish and maintain relationships with international and national carriers, regulatory bodies, and interconnect partners such as Bayobab.
• Lead commercial negotiations for roaming and interconnect deals, securing cost‑effective and growth‑focused agreements.
• Monitor service quality, manage dynamic customer requirements, and oversee invoicing and settlement processes.
• Ensure technical interoperability by enforcing telecom protocols (e.g., SS7, Diameter) across all partner systems.
• Forecast, plan, and review the unit’s budget, providing revenue and cost assumptions for the company’s budgeting cycle.
• Manage cross‑functional project teams to implement carrier‑relation initiatives on time and within compliance standards.

Required profile

• University degree in Business, Statistics, Telecommunications, Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven experience in wholesale, roaming, or interconnect operations within the telecom sector.
• Strong understanding of local (UCC) and international telecom regulations (GSMA, ITU).
• Demonstrated ability to lead negotiations and manage strategic partnerships.
• Excellent analytical and budget management skills.
