Accountant – Distribution Business

About the role
The Accountant will manage the full spectrum of accounting operations for a distribution business, covering accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, inventory valuation, landed‑cost accounting and statutory tax compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, process all transactions and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, perform bank reconciliations, manage inventory valuation and landed‑cost calculations, and ensure timely statutory tax filings.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce with CPA/ACCA certification or part‑qualified status.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience in FMCG, distribution or import environments, including inventory valuation and landed‑cost accounting.
Required skills
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally or Zoho Books (or similar ERP systems).
- Strong knowledge of Ugandan tax regulations (VAT, CIT, PAYE, WHT, NSSF).
