Accountant for Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Project

About the role

World Vision Uganda is looking for an experienced Accountant to support the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (UCSATP). The role will ensure that project finances are managed transparently, efficiently, and in line with donor and government requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, including cash books, ledgers, and journal entries.
• Process payments, receipts, bank reconciliations, and other financial transactions.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.
• Assist in preparing project budgets, forecasts and financial plans.
• Monitor expenditures against approved budgets and provide variance analysis.
• Prepare and submit financial statements and donor reports.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor regulations and international accounting standards.

Required profile

• Relevant accounting qualification or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in financial management for donor‑funded projects.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting and internal controls.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with project teams.
