Assistant Dean for Advancement – School of Law

About the role

The Mississippi Christian University School of Law seeks an Assistant Dean for Advancement to lead and execute a comprehensive advancement strategy. This full‑time role focuses on securing major gifts, strengthening donor relationships, and enhancing the School’s visibility among alumni and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a holistic advancement program for the Law School.
• Build and nurture relationships with individual donors, alumni, foundations, corporations, and friends of the School.
• Manage a personal portfolio of major‑gift prospects and close gifts of $25,000 or more.
• Collaborate with central university advancement teams to align Law School priorities with institution‑wide initiatives.
• Lead a team overseeing annual giving, alumni relations, and communications/marketing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or Juris Doctor preferred.
• Minimum five years of progressive development experience, preferably in higher education.
• Proven success managing a major‑gifts portfolio and securing gifts of $25,000+.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse constituencies.
• Experience with advancement databases such as Slate or comparable systems.
