About the role
The Department of Human Anatomy at Makerere University seeks an Assistant Technician to support laboratory operations and cadaver handling for teaching and research. This full‑time position involves maintaining a safe, organized workspace and assisting students with practical sessions.
Key responsibilities
- Clean and organize laboratory equipment and facilities.
- Implement safety guidelines and regulations.
- Assist in preparing student practicals.
- Maintain records of materials used.
- Collect human cadavers from hospitals for teaching and research.
- Procure, prepare, and dispose of teaching specimens such as skeletons, whole‑body cadavers, prosections, and histology slides.
- Participate in embalming of human bodies for educational and community service purposes.
Required profile
- Ordinary diploma in Laboratory Sciences.
- Age not exceeding 55 years at the time of application.
