Associate, Client Management

About the role

Standard Chartered Bank is hiring an Associate in Client Management in Kampala. The role supports client service delivery, promotes the Client Management model across Uganda operations, and provides second-line support for clients through telephone, email and face-to-face channels.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with relationship managers, product sales teams and operations staff to resolve client issues and improve service delivery.
• Champion the Client Management model across Uganda, tailored to client segmentation and scalable for growth.
• Maintain strict adherence to service standards, aiming for first-time-right results.
• Lead initiatives to improve efficiency and process harmonization, using automation to optimize workflows.
• Support credit documentation for corporate and business banking transactions in line with internal policies and regulations.
• Deliver second-line client support by telephone, email and face-to-face, investigating and resolving inquiries.
• Assist risk and compliance management by escalating issues and helping implement remediation plans.
• Build partnerships with Transaction Banking Implementation, Product Management, Relationship Management and Service Hubs for client onboarding and service excellence.

Required profile

• A degree or equivalent in business, finance, banking or a closely related field is preferred.
• Proven track record of ethical conduct and compliance with regulatory frameworks in financial services.
• Experience in risk management, client onboarding, due diligence and credit documentation, preferably in banking or related institutions.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in English.
• Attention to detail and analytical problem-solving.
• Proficiency with digital tools to promote automation and process improvement.
