Associate Manager, Trade Marketing

About the role

The Associate Manager, Trade Marketing – Uganda will lead trade marketing initiatives for BIC’s Lighters, Shavers and Stationery categories, adapting regional strategies to the local market and driving growth through distribution expansion, channel development and best‑in‑class execution.

Key responsibilities

• Drive in‑store execution excellence, ensuring visibility, merchandising standards, planogram compliance and product availability across priority outlets.
• Improve deployment of Point‑of‑Sale Materials (POSM) to maximise brand visibility and shopper engagement.
• Provide regular market, shopper and competitor insights to support commercial and marketing strategies.
• Analyse sales, distribution and trade promotion data to measure effectiveness, monitor KPIs and recommend corrective actions.
• Plan, execute and evaluate trade promotions and BTL activities in collaboration with the Business Development Manager.
• Manage the trade marketing budget, ensuring cost control and optimal ROI.
• Monitor and report trade marketing performance against agreed KPIs, offering actionable recommendations.
• Build strong cross‑functional partnerships with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance and regional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Trade Marketing, Marketing or a related commercial role, preferably in FMCG with multi‑market or distributor exposure.
