About the role

DFCU Bank is seeking a Banking Officer I to join its Kamwokya branch in Kampala. This entry‑level position focuses on cash handling, customer onboarding, and compliance with regulatory standards while delivering high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive cash, process payments, and guide customers to alternative banking channels.
• Execute withdrawals, deposits, and other instructions accurately and efficiently.
• Count and verify cash over the counter, ensuring alignment with transaction slips.
• Escalate transactions exceeding teller limits for supervisor approval.
• Ensure compliance with KYC, AML, and suspicious‑transaction reporting requirements.
• Stay updated on process flows, product information, and bank policies.
• Generate new accounts and cross‑sell bank products to meet sales targets.
• Identify customers for quick banking and migration to other service channels.
• Report suspicious activities to prevent fraud.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the bank.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Banking or a related business field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Basic computer and numeracy skills.
• Transparency, reliability, and high integrity.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles.
• High speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Customer‑service awareness and knowledge of experience standards.
• Ability to build relationships and demonstrate accountability.
