Compliance Officer

About the role

Coca‑Cola Beverages Africa, the largest African bottler, is seeking a Compliance Officer for its Namanve Plant in Kampala. Reporting to the Risk & Governance Manager, you will help embed governance, risk and compliance across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) and coordinate Control Self‑Assessments.
• Conduct control testing and ensure compliance with governance standards.
• Implement and continuously improve risk, control and governance policies.
• Coordinate internal, external and Corporate Audit Department audits and close findings promptly.
• Monitor compliance with internal controls, policies and regulatory requirements, and resolve deficiencies.
• Perform risk assessments and governance reviews to strengthen controls and mitigate business risks.
• Build governance capability through leadership, knowledge sharing and stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Risk Management, Internal Audit or a related field.
• Minimum six years of experience in operational finance, governance, compliance, risk management, internal controls or internal audit.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CIA or CIMA are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to use data analysis tools.
