Credit Administrator

About the role

Kenty Microfinance Limited is seeking a Credit Administrator to strengthen its credit administration and risk management functions. The role involves overseeing loan processing, monitoring delinquency, and ensuring compliance with credit policies across its operations in Kamwokya, Kampala.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor loan review activities to minimise losses and ensure adherence to policy guidelines.
• Formulate and recommend enhancements to credit collection policies and procedures.
• Examine loan applications for completeness, eligibility, and compliance with pre‑loan criteria.
• Implement delinquency measurement, loan loss monitoring, and train staff on credit risk management.
• Oversee day‑to‑day credit administration and risk management processes.
• Track loan repayments, delinquent accounts and write‑offs to maintain acceptable past‑due rates.
• Provide periodic status reports on non‑performing loans to the Head of Credit Operations.
• Conduct regular audits and spot checks to ensure policy compliance and collateral security.
• Maintain the institution’s loan portfolio to required standards and report on credit limits and associated risks.

Required profile

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Development Studies plus three years relevant experience, OR a Diploma plus five years relevant experience.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a busy financial institution, preferably micro‑finance, banking or related sectors.
• Proven experience in credit analysis, loan processing, and default management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage staff effectively.
