Enterprise Banker – Business Banking

About the role

The Enterprise Banker role supports Business Banking customers by delivering financial solutions that meet their specific needs. You will promote, market and sell a range of banking products while ensuring compliance with legislation and achieving sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide sales and service to Business Banking customers, allocating roughly 50% of time to each.
• Contact customers to open enterprise banking accounts and follow bank recruitment policies.
• Participate in product campaigns, explaining offerings and meeting sales targets.
• Grow portfolio profitability by identifying new and existing customer opportunities.
• Determine effective products and solutions, selling them proactively and reactively.
• Generate customer interest through face‑to‑face visits, telephone contact and lead follow‑up.
• Originate and submit credit applications in line with Absa Africa SME lending guidelines.
• Deliver lending decisions, explore alternative solutions and ensure client needs are matched.
• Conduct structured customer meetings with clear objectives.
• Maintain sales performance statistics for management reporting.
• Build relationships with branch staff to generate referrals.
• Complete account opening documentation and submit for review.
• Perform financial analysis for loan applications and advise customers when criteria are not met.
• Report denials to the Branch Manager and follow up with customers after account opening.
• Handle customer queries and complaints related to account opening, loans and card applications (approximately 20% of time).

Required profile

• Experience in business banking sales and customer service.
• Strong knowledge of banking products and credit assessment processes.
• Ability to meet sales targets and grow a profitable portfolio.
• Excellent communication skills for face‑to‑face and telephone interactions.
• Detail‑oriented approach to documentation and compliance.
