Management Accountant – Manufacturing

About the role

The client, a leading manufacturing company in Uganda, is looking for a qualified Management Accountant to lead the Management Accounting function. You will provide timely financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and decision‑support to drive profitability and cost optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, performance reports and dashboards for senior management.
• Coordinate annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and challenge assumptions to ensure realistic financial plans.
• Conduct profitability analysis by product, customer and segment, and provide recommendations for performance improvement.
• Oversee product costing, cost allocations and analyse manufacturing efficiencies, waste and yield losses.
• Support strategic projects and capital investments with financial evaluations and business case preparation.
• Drive effective use of SAP Management Accounting modules, improve reporting automation and ensure data integrity.
• Maintain internal controls, support audits and ensure compliance with group policies.
• Partner with sales, operations, procurement and technical teams to translate financial data into actionable insights.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Minimum 15 years of finance experience, including at least 5 years in a management accounting role within manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of costing, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, in an industrial environment.
